Bennett is 6 Months old!!

I can't believe he is already a half of a year old. We went through so much to get him here, and now we have a healthy boy. Thank God!

Bennett weighs 13 lbs. 9oz. and is 25 inches long- at the 5th %ile in both categories. He is wearing 3 month onesies and 0-3 month pants. Sometimes he can wear 3-6 month outfits, especially when they were his big brother's and washed a few dozen times!

Bennett nurses every 2-4 hours, he is definitely not a schedule kid (at least right now anyway). When he nurses, he gently rubs my chest back and forth like he is so thankful for his milk. :) I love this time together.

He is eating cereal twice a day, in the morning and at supper. He loves oats, although we are trying to get him used to having it made with water or formula as he is partial to oats with breastmilk. We have tried several different foods now- peas, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, and green beans. His favorites seem to be fruits...the exact opposite of Ethan!:) And he actually tolerates eating peas, Ethan would literally gag.

Bennett is getting really close to rolling over from back to tummy, he just can't quite make it all of the way over. He likes to pass items back and forth from hand to hand. He concentrates so hard! He still struggles a little bit to hold his head steady, but is doing better on his tummy. It will be awhile before he sits unassisted!

He is still getting up once a night to nurse, usually around 3-5am. We have found lately that when he wants to eat, he wants to eat immediately! He will scream and scream, loud and hard.

Bennett is babbling up a storm. He says "mamamamama" and "dadadadada", I am going to take the credit that "mama" was his first word as Ethan said "dada"...they both didn't realize who they were speaking of however!:)

Benne is a loud kid! He is much louder than Ethan ever was. He loves to scream in delight, I think he loves the sound of his own voice. When he gets excited he screams, when he is happy he screams, I love it! I can see a difference in the boy's personalities already.

Bennett loves his pacifier. We still only use it for naps and bedtime, but boy, it has sure come in handy a few times when we have had to delay a feeding or nap a little while!

Family Pics

We got family pictures and Bennett's 6 month pictures taken on Saturday. Bennett was very tired and didn't really want to be there, but that's o.k., we got a few good ones. Here is the link if you would like to check them out: http://www.infiniteimagedesign.com Go the "Online Gallery" at the bottom-right and then we are towards the bottom. The password isn't our last name this time, it is my name.

Happenings

When I was at work today, Adam got to be with the boys. This afternoon, Ethan worked very hard at getting all of his magnets on this one page. Adam said that he was so quiet, working away, and then he ran into the kitchen and said, "Daddy, come look!" I love that he is starting to talk in sentences now. Adam said that he just had to take a picture because it kept Ethan "busy" for so long.
Ethan has new teeth! Two new molars are poking through on the bottom, yeah!

Adam took him to the ENT today to discuss getting tubes. Dr. Hart doesn't think he is going to need them. We wanted to get them done, if he needed them, before the year's end, because we have met our out-of-pocket max on Adam's insurance for the year...thank you Bennett!:) We are praying that he will not have any more ear infections. What a battle that has been since he was 6 months old. He had endured 9 in the span of 8 months, went 8 months without any, and then just recently had 2 in the span of a month. I was just worried that there has been damage to his hearing, but Dr. Hart said that his hearing is great and because there isn't fluid that is just sitting there, he should be fine.

Bennett slept through the night for the first time on Tuesday, October 7th- hasn't done it since! He has been having some tummy troubles lately, and I think that the only reason he slept all night was because he hasn't had much of an appetite. These are the times that stress me out because I get worried about his growth.

Here is his new favorite toy, when he kicks it, the toys at the top move. Thank you Kezzie for letting us borrow it!

Heartland Pumpkin Patch

We got to enjoy the beautiful weekend by going to Heartland Farms on Saturday morning. They have a sea of pumpkins you can choose from. Ethan picked out one for each of us to carve this year. That should be a fun first experience for him. They have wheelbarrows to load your pumpkins into and of course, our pumpkin loved to ride in it too. :)

Bennett really enjoed being outside.

They have a turkey, chickens, goats, rabbits, and ponies to pet at the farm. We could hardly tear Ethan away from them. He was a little leary of the turkey though as it just got to roam wherever it wanted.

Puttin' on the Sleeper Hold

Ethan wanted to hold Bennett...
Isn't it precious...
Notice the devilish grin...
Things started to get a little crazy...
Uh-oh Benne...puttin' on the sleeper hold...
Time for an intervention...
Yikes! What just happened?

Watch me grow in my Bumbo!
